Dog Boarding Kennels serving Shrewsbury, Telford, Welshpool, Bishops Castle, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Church Stretton and Oswestryy
Daily Routine
We keep to the same daily routine which helps your dog to quickly settle in when they come to stay with us. Our routine is as follows:
7.00am
We open the pop holes to allow the dogs into their outside runs.
8.00am
All the dogs are taken for individual walks. With the owner’s permission, dogs are taken individually on one of the many beautiful walks in the area. We always keep dogs on a lead while walking. If the owner would prefer us not to take their dog off our premises then we can walk on our own 14 acres of land. While the dogs are being walked their runs and bedrooms are cleaned, disinfected and their bedding is changed.
After all the dogs have been walked they are fed and provided with clean water. All diets are catered for and you are more than welcome to bring food that your dog normally enjoys. Also, any medication your dog requires can be administered and diabetic dogs can be catered for as our staff are trained to give injections as directed.
After an hour’s rest the dogs take turns to be exercised and to have a play in our secure exercise area.
12.00 noon to 2.00pm
The dogs are left to settle down in the kennels. They are given treats at this time, for enrichment, until they go out again for another walk later in the day. This gives them time to relax, have a nap or have a good chew on their toys! Although they are left to have peace and quiet, there is always a member of staff keeping an eye on the dogs at all times.
2.00pm
Afternoon walks begin. Again, as in the morning, they are taken for a good walk of at least 20 minutes duration. As well as being walked the dogs spend time in our exercise area.
6.00pm
We feed the dogs.
9.00pm
We settle the dogs down for the evening. Our dogs are checked on throughout the evening and just before bedtime. The dogs will be let out into the exercise run for a last toilet stop in the evening. We provide a “turn down service” for our guests, remaking their beds, providing fresh water and leaving a tasty treat (if permitted)!
In the winter, the shutters (separating the bedroom from the run) are let down at around 6.00pm so as to keep the heat inside their bedroom area. In the summer the dogs are shut in between 9.00pm and 10.00pm. In very hot weather the shutters can be left open through the night.
Food and Medication
We provide a wide range of good quality food for your dog to enjoy. Brands include Beta, James Wellbeloved, Chappie, Bakers and a variety of tinned food. We are always happy to try and accommodate all diets. If your dog requires special feeding then please instruct us on the arrival of your dog and we can ensure your instructions are carried out during their stay with us.
